BANYAN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FOR
SOUTH ASIAN AMERICANS



The Banyan College Scholarship for South Asian Americans is dedicated to students from low-income families who are in their senior year of high school in New York City. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on financial and academic eligibility. Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around them. Grants between $2,000 and $10,000 will be awarded annually for up to five students, and may be renewable for a total of four years based on good academic standing.

Till date, 39 students have received the Banyan College Scholarship. These students belong to various South Asian communities in New York City and embody the spirit of the award. Click on the link below to read more about these Banyan scholars.
ELIGIBILITY
Students must fulfill the following requirements to apply:

Be of South Asian origin or descent (countries include India, Pakistan, Bangaldesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal)

Be a senior in high school in New York City

Be a citizen, national or permanent resident of the U.S.

Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

Show annual family household income to be below $90,000

Have two recommendation letters submitted on their behalf

Be applying to full-time undergraduate programs in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university for Fall 2024

APPLICATION PROCESS
SELECTION PROCESS
The complete application, including supporting documentation, must be submitted online by
March 1, 2024.
The selection committee will review applications and contact finalists for an in-person interview in April 2024. Finalists will be required to submit a copy of their FAFSA Student Aid Report, high school transcript and other supporting materials. Award decisions will be announced in May 2024.
